Common questions before starting therapy

FAQ

Yes. Therapy is always tailored to you.

We can focus on whatever feels most important—whether that’s healing from past experiences, rebuilding self-worth, improving your relationships, or working through specific challenges you’re facing right now.

Your privacy is a top priority.

Everything we discuss in therapy is confidential and protected in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and professional ethics. I also use secure, encrypted platforms to ensure your information stays safe.

I offer a few different options to make therapy accessible.

I accept Northwell Insurance.  I offer private pay and can provide a superbill that you may submit for reimbursement, depending on your benefits.

Not at all.

Some clients come for a short period to work through a specific concern, while others choose longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in on your goals and adjust as needed so therapy continues to feel helpful and aligned for you.

The consultation is a chance for us to connect before committing to therapy.

We’ll briefly talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re looking for, and answer any questions you have. It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for whether working together feels like a good fit—because that matters.

Yes—I offer both virtual and in-person sessions.

I understand that life can be busy, so I aim to provide flexible scheduling options when possible. Virtual sessions make it easier to fit therapy into your routine while still getting meaningful support.

Life can be unpredictable.

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

This allows me to offer that time to another client who may be waiting for an appointment. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee.

Often, yes.

Depending on your goals, I may offer reflections, exercises, or tools to help you continue the work between sessions. These are always optional and meant to support your growth—not overwhelm you.
